James Michener, world renowned author, wrote the book Centennial which was set in Northern Colorado. He attended what is now known as the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley from 1936-1941.
Each June marks the beginning of one of the biggest rodeos in the country, the Greeley Stampede. Old west meets new traditions as thousands flock to the many events and attractions that are offered. For a truly unique experience, the Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg is home to The Wild Animal sanctuary where rescued lions, tigers and wolves make their home.
